We elect them to high political office or seats on corporate boards, where they then appoint multitudes of cronies to serve under them and create vast bureaucracies with 'anything goes' accounting rules and the excuses of 'trade secrets' or 'national security' or 'war' in which to hide their crimes...and then we wonder what happened to our jobs, our health insurance, our pensions, our privacy-- our everything!

Maybe worst of all, the crooks don't even have to hide. We see the worst of them and their cronies on television almost every night, sometimes attending glittering parties or sight-seeing (on our tab!) in far flung, exotic places...
