Although I first saw Morena Baccarin in the short-lived TV series Firefly, I didn't take much notice of her there. For one thing, the show itself was far too boring to watch-- and I'm a hard core science fiction fan from way back! And for another, they badly botched the make up job on Morena there-- actually making her look worse rather than better with their efforts.

But what could the cosmetics people do? Admit she was already perfect appearance-wise, and so lose their jobs?

I didn't really notice Morena until she began appearing on Stargate SG-1. There, the make up artists seemed to wisely realize they better do as little as possible to Morena's face and hair, and simply try out their creativity with her clothes. Just to make her more alien and exotic-looking to suit her character's context in the show, they did add something like golden contact lenses to her eyes-- which actually did ratchet Morena up a notch in dazzling visual appeal (amazingly enough). You got to hand it to those Stargate make up folks: they sure know what they're doing when they've got real world beauties like Amanda Tapping and Morena Baccarin on the set.
